Following a successful Civil Aviation Authority (CAA) audit conducted at Ashford in October, MDSL’s Design Approval Organisation Scheme (DAOS) compliance has been recommended for renewal by the U.K. Military Airworthiness Authority (MAA).
Companies who manufacture aircraft, including UAV’s, must have DAOS approval in order for their aircraft to operate on U.K. military ranges. In support of this function, the Ministry of Defence have published a list of approved organizations which show compliance with MAA, together with their currency under the scheme and scope of approval. Details are published on the Ministry of Defence website, and can be reviewed by MOD Project Teams prior to taking a decision to contract with an organization.
Meggitt Defence Systems have held DAOS approval since 2006, and this latest renewal reinforces the company’s status in the design field.
